Sean Knight

An associate of the PLK Law Group, P.C., Mr. Knight specializes in the areas of Intellectual Property, Entertainment Law, Contract Law, and Employment Law. Mr. Knight is adept at crafting legal strategies designed to handle disputes in employment, infringement actions and intellectual property prosecution. Mr. Knight is also highly experienced at drafting licensing agreements, employment agreements and partnership agreements.

Time and again, Mr. Knight has demonstrated the requisite astuteness and creativity necessary to safeguard a fair deal against opposition which, more times than not, enjoys superior resources. In particular, Mr. Knight has orchestrated negotiations on behalf of PLK clients with some of New Jersey’s largest pharmaceutical companies in order to secure more meaningful severance packages.

In addition, Mr. Knight is proficient at merging overall strategy with practical expectations when designing contracts in a range of areas including venture agreements, website terms of service and settlement contracts. Often, agreements drafted by Mr. Knight strike the appropriate balance between the competing interests of the parties whilst taking the necessary steps to preserve an intellectual property rights’ holder’s interests in maintaining exclusivity.

Further, Mr. Knight is a skilled motion practitioner and has shown a capacity to present novel and complex arguments in a coherent and persuasive manner. Specifically, Mr. Knight has effectively opposed Office Action Letters filed by the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board in addition to successfully swaying a New Jersey Court to grant a motion for reconsideration in a domain-name dispute.

Mr. Knight graduated from Fordham University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History. As an undergraduate at Fordham, Mr. Knight also earned a Certificate in Peace & Justice Studies. Mr. Knight received his J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law. In law school, Mr. Knight focused his studies on Intellectual Property, Entertainment Law, Antitrust and International law. Mr. Knight has also studied European Union Law at Katholieke University in Leuven, Belgium and Pharmaceutical and Intellectual Property Law at the National University of Ireland in Galway. This international experience caused Mr. Knight to focus on issues surrounding intellectual property rights in a global market. Before going to law school, Mr. Knight worked as an educator at a public high school in New Jersey.
